Lady's Mantle (Alchemilla vulgaris ): For inflamed wounds. To stop bleeding and vomiting. Bruises, cuts, scrapes. Prevents infection. Use for any inner or outer wound, as a decoction or topical wash. Excessive menstruation. Promotes delayed menstrual flow. Alleiviates cramps and painful menstruation. To treat diarrhea. Use as mouth wash for ulcers and sores, and as a gargle for laryngitis. Soothing to skin if applied topically. Use whole herb, gather when in flower (June and July), dried. Also root, used fresh. Do not use if pregnant or nursing.
Mix lady's mantle leaves, lavender, and rose petals with apple cider vinegar and let sit 2-4 weeks. Use on face or in bath.
Sweet Cicely (Myrrhis odorata): Use for coughs, flatulence, fevers, indigestion, stomach aches. Fresh root can be eaten or made into an infusion. Scent is an aphrodisiac, used as a love medicine. Digestive disorders. Antiseptic wash. Root is strongest medicine. Weak tea to bathe sore eyes. Strong infusion can induce labour. Leaves and flowers edible in salads.
St. John's wort (Hypericum perforatum): Mild nerve tonic for anxiety, depression, insomnia, and general unrest. Diuretic, treatment of gastritis. Oil preparations of the flowers are used externally for the treatment of bruises, hemorrhoids and inflammation. Helps speed healing of wounds and sores.
